About the place: Terrassa has excellent comunication networks by
road and train (35 minutes from Barcelona, two separate railway lines, two motorways). You can also easily reach lots of beaches by train or car in less than 1 hour trip.Terrassa is an industrial and University town on the outskirts of Barcelona, its population being about 160000. Places of interest: the National Museum of Technology of Catalonia, old churches of St. Pere (eleventh century), a big urban park, some nice modernist old factories and houses, very close to some preserved areas of interesting mediterranean forest (Montserrat, Sant Llorenç del Munt, Montseny). Children's activities and attractions (outside Terrassa): Barcelona and the Catalan Coast are very popular tourist destinations. So there is plenty of entertainment, specially outwards, by the sea. A couple of big aquatic parcs
(swimming pools, water slides, live music and so on) fall within one hour drive. A nice old fashioned fun park nearby overlooks Barcelona. The huge fun (theme) parc Port Aventura (80 miles drive) deserves a visit.
