Detached 3 bedroom holiday cottage. Wonderful all day sun position. Absolute waterside position overlooking Dunedin harbour at Portobello on the Otago peninsula. Cottage garden, extensive decking and total privacy. Main bedroom has balcony and sea views.

Pudding Island Retreat perfectly matches its name. Situated in a spectacular location, with gorgeous views and lots of space to unwind and relax. It is a little way out - but absolutely worth the drive. We did not want to leave. Idyllic on a sunny day with gorgeous gardens, the song of the Tui and of course ... that view! But just as lovely when the rain came in, snuggled up on the sofa watching the storm across the water.. The kitchen is fully stocked and so easy to cook in, and the house has great laundry facilities. Beds are super comfy! Overall - I can only describe this place as perfect, and I hope one day to return. Thanks for all the thought that has gone into this place, it feels like a well loved home and was a wonderful part of our NZ trip.

The house is amazing and very homely! It reminded walking into a family members house—warm and inviting, not cold and clinical like other places I’ve stayed.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances and utensils you need to make a lovely roast dinner. Also has a great size fridge.
The beds are hotel quality—haven’t so good on holidays in a long time.
Graham and Sandi are wonderful hosts and had excellent communication throughout my stay. I would recommend family and friends stay here and hope to visit again in the future.

Wow, what a view and what a place. We are 5 weeks into an 8 week trip to South Island and this was the best yet. The accommodations are pristine, looks like new. The view was just incredible, overlooking the bay. Being able to have dinner while sitting on the deck with the view was a real treat.
The location was excellent; far enough out of the city to be quiet but close enough to be convenient.
A real pleasure to stay here and I would highly recommend it.

Graham and Sandi`s place was a lovely oasis with an absolutely stunning view. It was easy to feel at home and get into relaxation mode.
The gardens are lovely and peaceful and the birdsong impressive. Eating on the deck, looking out over Pudding Island with the sun shining and the birds singing is pretty hard to beat.
The beds were comfy, and the house has everything you need... so settle in and enjoy this lovely little slice of paradise.

This was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in. The location and views were spectacular as was the magical walking path to the bucolic downtown. The interior and gardens were both artfully designed and very well maintained. The property made us feel right at home as soon as we entered the building.
We loved the Otago Peninsular and this home is home is the place to stay if you’re ever fortunate enough to visit this wonderful location.

About the location

The village of Portobello is 10 mins walk from the cottage along a scenic clifftop path. It is possible to walk across to the island at low tide. Only 17 kilometres to the centre of Dunedin (the Edinburgh of the South) city with its cultural attractions, restaurants, cafes and boutique bars.

The Otago Peninsula is Dunedin`s major tourist destination: Albatross Centre, Penguins & seals, Lanarch Castle (NZ`s only castle) are nearby and the glorious Pacific Ocean beaches with their network of walking pathways are on the seaward side of the peninsula (about 20 minutes drive). A beautiful and very special part of the majestic South Island.
