Cosy Corner

Our holiday home is a pretty, traditional brick and flint cottage in a quiet village about 5 miles inland from Brancaster on the north Norfolk coast.

The cottage is comfortable all year round, with a quiet garden for summer relaxing, and central heating, an open fire and comfortable sofas for cosy colder months. There are lots of books and reading spots, a sun room, and a well-equipped kitchen.

The shower room and cloakroom are both downstairs - the stairs are quite steep but straight and have a good hand rail. One bedroom has a double bed and the other has twin single beds.

About the location

Norfolk is famous for its huge gently sloping sandy beaches, such as at Holkham which has dunes and is backed by shady pine woods, or Brancaster where you often see seals and lovely sunsets. There`s plenty of sailing, with coastal boat trips in the summer, and long stretches of salt marsh that attract birds (and birdwatchers) in the autumn. You can walk for miles along the coast and there are also historic inland routes such as Peddars Way.

Stanhoe village has a good pub/restaurant just a few minutes` walk from the cottage, a children`s playground and two duck ponds. Several historic houses and their estates are nearby: Sandringham, Holkham and Houghton are all well worth visiting. You’ll need a car to get around this area - there’s plenty of space to park on the drive.

Burnham Market is 3 miles from the cottage, with its classy restaurants and shops, and Wells next the Sea is a 15-minute drive. There are great fish and chips here, and several pubs with decent food. Holt is further to the east if you`re looking for vintage shops, delis and restaurants.

Kings Lynn is a 30-minute drive for trains to Stansted airport and London.
