We live in a classic Victorian terraced house with steps up to the front door and small, pretty front and back gardens. The house has wood floors throughout, and is full of books and paintings. Our area is between two parks (both with tennis courts and playgrounds) and is an idyll for families with young children, safe and tranquil. There are useful corner shops close by, and butcher, greengrocer, small supermarket and nice cafes within ten minutes' walk.
Brighton has a vibrant atmosphere, cinemas, galleries, beautiful Regency architecture, seafront, a nearby Marina, and some idiosyncratic shops and eateries. We are ten minutes' drive from the Sussex Downs and historic Lewes, (which in summer has a lovely outdoor pool) is a 15-minute train ride.
