Comfortable family home

Our home is located 40 kilometers from downtown Melbourne on the edge of the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.

The house is two stories with five bedrooms. We built it to raise our children but now they have grown up the place presents itself as an ideal home for a house swap. It is comfortable and child/family friendly. We have grandchildren so have a cot, stair gate and toys available.
There are fields at the back of our house where we regularly see kangaroos.
The local shops and several cafes are 2 kms away and other shopping centres within 30 mins drive. The area is rural and reasonably flat, with off road walks nearby. The nearest train, going to Melbourne is 5 kms away and there is a bus at the end of our (short) road. A car is necessary to see the area easily and ours can be available.
We have an amiable cat, but if exchangers were not happy to care for him, then we could make alternative arrangements.

About the location

The wine growing, very lovely Yarra Valley is a 20 minute drive away, and we are close enough to Melbourne for it to be easily accessible, for restaurants, theatres etc.
The Great Ocean road is 3 hours away and the beach 1-2 hrs drive. Also Phillip Island with its popular fairy penguins. There are plenty of walks, picnicking places, cinemas and all amenities closeby. The snowfields are 2-3 hours away for snowboarding etc.
