Three-story village house with fantastic mountain views.

Our house has loads of space, with a big open plan living and dining area and a roof terrace with fabulous views. There's a cosy double room for guests, plus a single room and two bathrooms. The house is built directly into the hillside, keeping it comfortably cool in summer and warm in winter. There's a well-equipped kitchen, a washing machine and tumble drier, plus lots of books, walking maps and DVDs (mostly in English).

About the location

We're in the heart of the Alpujarra mountains, in the pretty village of Juviles (alt.1,250m, pop.180, 2 bars, public swimming pool in summer). One of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of Southern Europe, this is a wonderful location for walking, riding, biking and bird watching. The history of the area is fascinating too - the Alpujarra was the last part of Spain to fall during the Christian reconquest. The village is very peaceful (unless there's a fiesta underway!) but within a half-hour's drive or so there are little market towns with plenty of shops, restaurants and other amenities. Granada (with the Alhambra) is about an hour and a half away, the coast under an hour. Malaga airport is just over two hours drive.
