About the location

Warners Bay is a popular suburb on Lake Macquarie, 16 km S/W of Newcastle, the second city of NSW after Sydney, on the east coast of Australia.

Newcastle is a port city which is the largest coal export location in the world.

We live in a new subdivision, walking distance to Lake Mac and the local village which has 2 supermarkets, two chemists, bakery and approximately 8 cafes, several restaurants (including Asian, Italian, Indian) to choose from, as well as some interesting specialty shops on The Esplanade. Our local pub’s renovations have recently been completed. The lake has an excellent walking path, monthly weekend markets, and in summertime, monthly Music on the Lake on Friday nights.

We regularly take the train to Sydney to see shows, visit the Art Gallery, or catch up with family.

Situated 162kms north of Sydney, in the heart of the Hunter Region and is bordered by a stunning coastline.

Close to beaches in Newcastle and Port Stephens; world-class wineries in the Hunter Valley and some of the world`s most famous horse studs in the Upper Hunter.

The drive to Sydney takes approximately 2hrs. There is a rail link to Sydney with departures every 30mins, the trip taking around 2hrs 40mins. Flights depart daily from Newcastle (Williamtown) airport to Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. International visitors can arrive via Brisbane or Melbourne airports. There are no mainstream airline flights between Sydney and Newcastle.

Enjoy walking along the surfing beaches to Anzac Walk, visit Fort Scratchly, or stroll along the beautiful harbour and visit our regional Museum and our highly regarded Art Gallery.

Two larger shopping malls are a 15-minute drive away. The popular Hunter Valley vineyard tourist attractions are a pleasant 50 minute drive and Port Stephens, popular for whale and dolphin watching is under 1 hour drive.
