Montenegro is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the sea, the mountains and the wild beauty of both it`s coastline and interior.

Our four storey home has fantastic views of the sea, mountains and the town. It is located on the hillside, in beautiful countryside, about 600 metres away from the town. Far away enough to enjoy peace and quiet, but near enough for a gentle stroll into the old town, to the square and beaches in Risan.

This small market town has a palm tree lined main road, a central piazza and also benefits from a good variety of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and shops.

There are also several villages and beaches to choose from around Risan Bay. Perast the next village has picture postcard good looks, while a short car ride away is the lovely medieval walled city of Kotor.

Our house has a large swimming pool 10 metres x 6 m x 2 m depth, suitable for having a good swim and for diving into.

We also have a summer kitchen with bar-b-que and several large balconies and patios suitable for sun bathing.

The bottom two floors of the house are completely separate and private from the house. These are arranged into two self-catering apartments with two bedrooms and two bathrooms each. There are separate entrances and terraces with beautiful sea views.

All areas of the house have Wifi.

About the location

We also have a vine covered Pergola in a quiet part of the garden. There are swings for children.

Risan is the oldest settlement of the Boka Kotorska (Kotor Bay) in Montenegro, dating from around 400 BC. This area is known as a beautiful Adriatic coast, with several natural beaches. It also offers the opportunity to explore fascinating mountains and national parks. On the slopes surrounding herds of goats, flocks of sheep and cows also graze and roam free, bells tied around their necks so you can hear them coming. Risan is a small town with a square and market, restaurants and bars. There are also many nearby villages as well as the small walled medieval town of Kotor, within easy reach or accessible by car or local bus. Around the area where we live there are cave paintings dating from the eighth century BC; The archaeological sites of the time of Iliria and later Roman mosaics. This is economically speaking, a third world country that has just recently, (May 2006) become an independent republic. However, there are local restaurants that are internationally renowned, the President of Montenegro`s favorite is just a short drive from Risan. The wild beauty of this country is fantastic and must be seen to believe. In winter and spring skiing is popular in the mountains and in late spring / summer and early fall the warm warm waters of the Adriatic are a must for bathers and sun lovers. Montenegro is a good hub for visiting other countries of the former Yugoslavia, as well as countries like Albania and Italy, either by car or bus tours organized locally, or by ferry from Bar in Montenegro.
