Hillsley, Wirksworth

Hillsley is our family home which we moved in to earlier this year from our previous house which was on this website. We had many successful exchanges there and hope to do so in this house.
Hillsley was built in the 1930’s and has a wonderfully, unexpected walled garden complete with palm trees and pagodas! The garden backs on to open fields and provides great views of the Dales.
The house has 4 double bedrooms and upstairs bathroom. Downstairs we have created a large, modern kitchen diner which opens out on to a covered veranda, overlooking the garden. There is a lovely, separate sitting room with a TV and fire.
We have nearly finished renovating and decorating the house. The upstairs bathroom remains untouched but is perfectly functional, just a little pink!
We are really enjoying living so close to Wirksworth and all it has to offer.

About the location

We are a 5 minute walk in to the pretty and vibrant town of Wirksworth. Described as the ‘gem of the peaks,’ Wirksworth has a thriving arts community and is full of history and heritage.
There are plenty of cafes, independent shops and a wonderful cinema. We are a five minute walk from the High Peak trail which is perfect for walking and cycling. The National Stone Centre and Mount Cook Adventure Centre are a short walk away whilst Carsington Water is a 15 minute drive away. If you are craving urban life the cities of Derby, Nottingham and Sheffied are all within an hours drive.
