Short tram ride to Victoria street (Vietnamese and Asian cafes and shops, and Chapel Street for fashion outlet shops, cinemas and dining strip. A slightly longer tram ride ride takes you to St Kilda Beach area, for entertainment, restaurants, famous cake shops and access to the Bay.

Short walk to Melbourne Cricket Ground, Aami park (soccer and rugby league), Rod Laver arena Tennis Centre, (Australian open, courts can be hired outside Australian open tennis tournament), Tram to Formula 1, March.

Easy walk or short tram ride to city for; Victorian Arts Centre, Federation Square (galleries, cafes, Australian Centre for Moving Image), National Gallery of Victoria, Hamer Hall (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra), Arts Centre Melbourne, Recital Center, Museums, Galleries, Cinemas and shopping.

Botanical Gardens are close by and a circular walk is a pleasant hour. Richmond Union Bowls club, open all year round.

Queen Victoria Market, South Melbourne Market, Prahran market and Camberwell Market are easy tram rides away.

Good setting off point for the Great Ocean Road. Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula wineries a convenient drive.
