Dedham is a haven for artists, walkers and writers. The Vicarage is in the centre of the village, next to the parish church. Dedham is in the centre of "Constable Country" (after the artist John Constable), near the River Stour, and is considered to be one of the most beautiful areas in England.
The Vicarage is a large Georgian (1815) house with a 2 acre garden. One of very few traditional vicarages in England still used for its original purpose - as a home for the Vicar - it is full of historic charm and character (some curved walls, 1000s of books, large cellar, and a large log-fire) as well as all the comforts of a modern home (central heating, digital TV & internet etc).
We are at the heart of a small village, with shops and restaurants within a short walk, but a few hundred yards takes you to the edge of the village - and some of the best scenery in lowland Britain.
