The cottage is full of character and is well cared for, with modern comforts. There is a spacious sitting room with wood burner and TV, and a cosy snug with another wood burner. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms (one with king size bed and one with a double bed), an office/studio and a bathroom. The cottage also has a modern extension housing a lovely family kitchen and a downstairs double bedroom (king size bed) and bathroom. The cottage has oil-fired central heating and high-speed WiFi.

There is an annex flat in the garden which consists of a double bedroom (king size) and bathroom both with underfloor heating.

About the location

The setting is rural and rich in wildlife, perfect for walking, cycling, fishing and horse-riding. In recent years we’ve also found lots of places nearby for canoeing and wild swimming. Many good pubs nearby for food and drink.

Excellent transport links to London (Audley End station is a 10 minute drive), the historic market town of Saffron Walden is a 15 minute drive and Cambridge is a 30 minute drive. Suffolk is close by with its lovely old towns and there’s also much to see in Uttlesford itself - Audley End House, lovely villages like Finchingfield and Thaxted etc...
