North Overgate
We live in the historic and picturesque fishing village of Kinghorn on the East coast of Scotland halfway between Edinburgh and St. Andrews, both of which are a 35 minute train journey away. Other key locations within half hour - hour of travel include Perth, Dunfermline , Dundee, Falkland Palace and the beautiful villages of East Neuk.
The house is over 300 yrs old, stone walled with three bedrooms, kitchen, livingroom, bathroom. The living room has a fireplace either end with a wood burning stove which keeps the place cosy in the winter months. There is a piano and instruments and wi-fi access. The garden is large and in various stages of blooming and growth with fruit trees, foliage and vegetables for harvesting depending on which time of the year you visit. We have a bantam hen called Maurice and a cat called Peggy who is independent and affectionate, but sadly does not get on with dogs.
About the location
Kinghorn has some beautiful walks and a loch to the West of the village which sits alongside an ecology centre which runs craft and conservation courses and workshops and classes for adults and children of all ages and a lovely cafe. We have a lovely beach, sailing club, kayaking and coastal rowing activities both at the beach and the loch. There is a golf course and clubhouse as well as a Lifeboat Station run by volunteers. The high street has cafe, community arts centre, shops and a small contemporary Art Gallery at the Railway Station.
There are three pubs and a popular Bistro `The Ship Restaurant` in the village.
Kinghorn is directly on the famous Coastal Path Hike between Forth Road & Tay Bridges. We live 2.5hrs away from the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
