Lovely 2 Bed home in Ried, Austria

My 80 m apartment is on the seventh and top floor, with view over the small town and hills. Ried has a population of around 10,000 and is a market town with good shopping, swimming pool, tennis courts. It's an agricultural area with lots of pine woods, rolling hills ideal for hiking. The Austrian version of the Lake District, Salzkammergut in the mountains, is just a 30-40 minute drive away, the German border 20 km and the old German town Passau on the Danube 40 km. Salzburg is just 60 km.

it's good to have car to get out in the country but there's a train station with frequent trains to Salzburg, Linz, Vienna (3hours) and Munich (2hours). The restaurants are excellent as is also Austrian wine - though this is a real beer-brewing area! Austrian cakes are detrimental to dieting!
