The house is located in one of Andalusia's traditional, white, hilltop villages. It is laid out on three floors - bedrooms & bathroom on the ground floor, an open plan kitchen/dining area & sitting room on the middle floor (+ additional WC), and finishing with a spacious roof terrace for outdoor eating and sunbathing. The house is not suitable for small children as there are two steep, open staircases. Fast internet for downloading films if you have a laptop. Some DVD's available. No TV. The view from the terrace is of mountains and countryside. Very efficient wood-burning stove for winter months. No central heating. Ceiling fan for Summer months. No air-con.

About the location

I know the area well, so will be able to give plenty of suggestions about what to see and do if you would like. There are two public swimming pools in the village (open July & August) and bathing is also possible in the river for several months of the year. Great area for walking & bird watching, being on the migration route. The village is in a protected national park of cork oaks. The wild flowers in Spring are spectacular. Mediterranean coast 25 mins drive and Tarifa on the unspoilt Atlantic coast is 55 mins away. From here there are ferries to Morocco; crossing takes 35 mins. Gibraltar is the nearest airport, 40 mins. Malaga & Jerez airports 2 hours by car/bus. Car hire recommended as local public transport is limited. That said, there is a good train service to Granada, Sevilla & Malaga.
