Black Isle house close to beaches

We are located 40 meters from the beach in Fortrose - a small Scottish seaside town 30 minutes from Inverness on the Black Isle peninsula. Inverness has an airport.

Our house has been recently renovated with oak floors throughout. It is bright and friendly with loads of flexible space. We have four bedrooms which can accommodate 5 or 6 people. We have lovely long distance views over the countryside and sea. Our children enjoy the swings and trampoline in the big garden.

Our house overlooks the Moray Firth - home to bottle nosed dolphins. This is one of the few places in the UK where you can view these playful creatures from the shore. Ideal for an evening stroll. There are also boat trips.

Fortrose has a small supermarket, restaurants, pubs and bakers.

The Black Isle is a popular holiday destination and is a hidden gem in the Highlands with lots of things to see and do in the vicinity. We have a beautiful sandy beach 30 minutes walk away from the house at Rosemarkie and there's a stoney beach just one minute's walk away. You are spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor activities in the area - cycling, mountain biking (Learnie Red Rock), sailing, kayaking, golf, tennis and horse riding are all on offer. Loch Ness is a 40 minute drive away. There are lots of things for children not too far away - eg Landmark Adventure Park in Carrbridge, the Wildlife Park in Kincraig and the indoor Aquadome in Inverness. You can go hill walking for the day on Scotland's most famous mountains. Day trips to the west coast (Skye, Ullapool, Gairloch, Plockton etc) are easy as are excursions to the north of the country - Durness, John O'Groats. Very good sea kayaking and a good way to view the many sea birds. Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle, Dunrobin Caste and Fort George are also worth a visit.
