The Thatched Cottage

This is our second home, which we absolutely adore!

Built in 1650 and situated on the outskirts of Barnstaple, North Devon. The cottage enjoys the 'best of both worlds', being semi rural enjoying an outlook over the surrounding countryside yet having all the convenience of an urban lifestyle being within close proximity to local and town amenities and just a short drive to the coast.

It's a cottage to be enjoyed with its secluded south facing garden, cosy log burning fire and quirky cottage features. Plus it's dog friendly so the whole family can enjoy it!

Perfectly located for family holidays, golfing, walking the countryside, surfing, cycling, trips to the beach and much more.

About the location

It is located in a very peaceful area with beautiful countryside views onto fields with rescue horses. But also only 1.5 miles into town if you fancy walking in for a bite to eat in the many restaurants.

We are right next to the A361 allowing you to waste no time in getting to the beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton Sands and many more.

if you fancy a game of golf, we are less than a mile away from Portmore golf course.
