About the location

Glossop is an historic market mill town , surrounded on three sides by the hills of the Peak District National Park. The town itself offers a range of independent shops, a good selection of pubs, cafes and bars, a weekend market, a Victorian swimming pool, and a beautiful park with a stream to paddle in and ride on the miniature train in the summer. The Peak district National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty perfect for hill walking, fell running, mountain biking, climbing and horse riding. Within 10 mins walk from our home you can be walking in the surrounding hills. The train station is easy walking distance, about 300m, with a direct line to Manchester and all it has to offer including its international concert venues and sporting facilities. Buses leave from the town centre to the surrounding areas such as picturesque Bakewell and the spa town of Buxton. The National Trust properties of Chatsworth, Eyam Hall, Lyme Park and Haddon Hall are within an easy drive. Many activities for children available close by during the holidays: theatre clubs, dance studios, martial arts, cricket sessions, football, tennis, swimming etc etc please ask for further details. The town itself is acquiring a reputation for its live music scene. A great location for all the family.
