Fremantle

My wife Leonie and I have recently downsized to this ground level apartment on the water at North Coogee (about 5kms south of Fremantle). It`s been a very rewarding move because we both love to swim and walk along the pristine beach for an hour each morning. There are three beaches within a six-minute walk. A "marina beach" is 90 seconds away -- a perfectly safe beach where boats are not permitted and is ideal for those who just want to splash around but you can also swim freely. Our favourite beach is just south of the apartment, a six-minute walk, which features pristine sand and water, and a 330m shark net for those a little reluctant to swim without protection.

The apartment building was built in 2017, so it presents like new. It has two ensuite bathrooms, is airy and light and comes with Smeg induction hotplate and stove. Two bedrooms and the lounge-dining area feature air conditioning. We have a two-car parking space in the secure undercroft car park, and a Subaru Forester would be included in the swap if a car is also included at the other end. We have an enormous 70sqm balcony which enjoys lovely views over the marina which is only 40m away. Aside from the second bedroom, views of the marina are front and centre in all other rooms, often highlighted with superb sunset. It`s a very friendly neighborhood, busy during the day but whisper quiet of a nighttime. The floor-to-ceiling windows come with electric blinds but the tinting on the glass and curtains mean passers-by can`t see into the apartment. It has strong Wi-Fi connection allowing Netflix and other programs to be shown through the net.

About the location

Port Coogee is beachside area south of Fremantle, featuring a beautiful marina and hundreds of metres of beach. It has a Woolworths supermarket about 400m from the apartment and two superb restaurants are close-by. The Coogee Boathouse is a bar- restaurant overlooking the marina, less than two minutes from our front door, while Amuni is a four-minute walk and features some great dishes. Coffee shops are less than a minute away. Port Coogee had the customary service shops such as newsagency, pharmacist, medical facilities etc. A regular bus service operates to Fremantle. And if you need to, there`s a regular train service from Fremantle to Perth. It`s also ideally located to make a bolt down to the famed Margaret River Wine country, around three hours away.
