About the location
We are in very quiet part of Radcliffe on Trent, which is a large, long established commuter village. All conveniences are within a 10 minute walk of the house and we have excellent roads north, south, east and west. The village is calm, friendly and old fashioned. Regular and frequent buses into the City OF Nottingham take 25 mins going via West Bridgford, a popular suburb where the main street is filled with pavement cafés, restaurants and the usual convenience shops. Nearby Nottingham and Grantham have frequent train services to London take between 1 .15 and 1.50 hrs
Nottinghamshire borders Derbyshire and The Peak National Park, about 1.15 hr drive away. Lincolnshire and Lincoln Cathedral are 45 mins to the East, York 2 hrs North and Stratford upon Avon 1.15 mins to Warwickshire and from there excellent roads to the SW.
Nottingham has two Universities, plenty of cinemas, two nationally known theatres and a magnificent concert hall. We also have a very modern art gallery as well as traditional art and museums in the Castle and the University. Our huge central square provides space and relaxation in a busy and lively city. Though Nottingham Castle boasts the statue of Robin Hood it is not medieval! In fact it has recently had an extensive refurbishment . The park provides magnificent views over the southern part of the city and our other city parks are all of historic interest.
