Murrayfield flat, Central Edinburgh
Compact but well furnished, equipped and homely flat in a very quiet location but with all Edinburgh has to offer on your doorstep. Set within an old converted mill overlooking the Water of Leith, our home has a wonderful setting which can best be described as a little haven of tranquility within the heart of the city. Our aim was to have our home attractive, comfortable, child friendly and relaxing but also unfussy, I think we have achieved that. We always have a nice welcoming feeling each and every time we visit, our wish is for you to have a similar experience.
The flat has, wifi, TV (Netflix, DVD), washing machine, dishwasher, coffee maker and pretty much all you would expect to find in a modern home.
It is so nice to sit by the window having a morning coffee or tea watching the world go by, joggers, cyclists, dog walkers, locals and visitors alike all enjoying the walk. We have listed flat as our second home but in reality we spend more time in Edinburgh than we do in our home town of Helensburgh.
About the location
Our flat is located on the fringe of Edinburgh city centre and within walking distance of Murrayfield Stadium, (home of Scottish rugby), Murrayfield Ice Rink and sports centre with gym, etc. Edinburgh zoo is just a couple of bus stops away, a must visit if you have children to entertain. Edinburgh airport to flat is approximately a 30min drive, like most cities getting around by car is not ideal, however, the local bus service is very good and stops are only a 3 or 4 minute walk away. The new tram system is also now in place and while i have not really had reason to use it i am told it operates extremely well. There are restaurants, bars, cafe,s and shops in immediate area and of course extensive facilities and attractions nearby in city centre. Water of Leith walk passes directly in front of flat as you can see from the pictures, the pathway follows the river all the way to Leith. The walk is a wonderful experience, you really have to keep reminding yourself you are actually in the centre of a city. As the pathway meanders alongside the river there are so many attractions to stop and see along the way, such as, Gallery of modern art 10 min, Dean village 15 min, Stockbridge 25 min and taking in the full walk to Leith would probably be about 1 1/2 hour.
We could ramble on about the joys of Edinburgh, a beautiful city with so much to offer but best you come and find out for yourself, i know for sure you would not be disappointed. Should you decide that you would like to visit our little snug we will do all we can, to make sure that you have a wonderful experience, providing ideas and information that we think would help.
The world famous Edinburgh festival is during the month of August, whatever your entertainment preferences are, the festival will for sure provide.
