Our home is a 4 bedroom semi-detached 1950's chalet bungalow situated in a quiet residential street. Recently modernised, we have a brand new kitchen with dishwasher, 2 ovens, hob, fridge, freezer etc.
There is a single bedroom and a bathroom downstairs. The downstairs bathroom has a wash basin, w.c, and bath with shower over the bath. Also on the ground floor is the kitchen and L-shaped living/dining room with seating for 6 and extendable dining table also seating 6. There is a 42" flat screen digital TV, DVD player, gas fire and broadband wifi.
On the first (upper floor) are two good sized bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and walk in wardrobe, the other with a king sized tempur bed. In addition there is another small bedroom/study with a desk, printer and bed more suited to a child or smaller adult. There is also a shower/utility room, with shower cubicle, w.c., bidet and washing machine.
The rear garden is private and secluded. It is on 2 levels and there are seating areas, tables and chairs, firepit, gazebo, Weber charcoal barbecue, summerhouse, studio and garage with large freezer and tumble drier.
We are a 15 minute downhill walk to Hitchin town centre, 20 minutes walk to the railway station- trains to London Kings Cross (32 mins) and Cambridge (33 minutes). There is a bus stop a few minutes walk with buses to town and back. At the end of our street (2 minutes walk) is a small convenience store and two takeaways (Chinese and Indian).

About the location

Hitchin is a lovely old market town, set at the eastern end of the Chiltern hills. It has been listed as one of the top ten places to live in the U.K (The Times newspaper 'Best Places to Live). The town centre is full of historic buildings and has a quaint old marketplace.
It is a 5 minute drive to the A1 (M) and 20 minute drive to the M1. It is a 15 minute drive to London Luton airport, 50 minutes to London Stansted, 1 hr to London Heathrow and 1.5 hrs to London Gatwick airports. There is a large hospital with A&E 10 minutes drive away.
Hitchin has supermarkets, many bars, cafes and restaurants including many independent shops. There is a swimming centre with an indoor 25 m pool (open all year) and a 50m heated outdoor pool ( open May-September).
