Villa Marianna - Symi Island

A charming detached old stone house/villa right on the watersedge of a quiet sheltered fishermans bay. It is two storey with a quirky outside stone stairway, its own sea jetty and an upstairs verandah with an incredible view towards Turkey especially at sunrise and sunset. It also has a charming little garden patio with flowers and herbs and a large sun terrace on the upper floor. Windows at all aspects keep the house cool allowing the sea breezes through and giving plenty of light. Ideally suitable for a couple or a couple with 1 young child upstairs plus an older child or adult sleeping downstairs.

Little Tiggy our adopted Greek street cat comes as part of the package. She is as good as gold and will welcome you! Her food will be supplied. Sometimes the local fisherman will offer you part of his catch if he has been lucky so it can go straight on the barbecue!

Unlike most Greek holiday lets, the house has a charming shabby chic decor while still incorporating the charm of old Greece. Being a designer and antique textile lover this little haven has been furnished as our comfortable home away from home and we hope you will cherish it too.

About the location

Symi is a beautiful island with many coves to explore by foot, local bus, water taxi or yacht or you can even hire your own runabout boat and moor it on our jetty. Boat day trips offer trips round the island and include a fantastic beach barbecue lunch.

Symi`s main Harbour, Yiallos, has many bustling tavernas, bars ( some with live bouzouki music) and quality shops to explore and is within easy reach via a short 15 minute local bus or taxi ride from our bay which is just over the mountain, through the village and down the other side of the valley.

Alternatively, our bay has a well stocked supermarket, two waterside tavernas and a charming little kafenion where you can have a delicious salad or meze so if you prefer to just chill out, you don`t have to go anywhere.

Wakeup to the romantic sunrise over Turkey, breakfast in the shade of the little patio garden, relax and enjoy drinks on the verandah watching the reflected colours change in the sea at sunset, dine under the stars by the waters edge, sunbathe on the sun terrace and swim from the jetty. Whether you want sun or shade this villa has the outside spaces to enjoy and Its quirky, yet comfortable shabby chic decor gives it a charming character.
