Trullo

Welcome to the Valle D`Itria; a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of the famous stone walled trulli!

This trullo is currently being used as our holiday home, being in our family for generations. It was originally used as a farmhouse and olive store but has been restored and updated to modern standards of comfort with air conditioning, internet and a pool.

Two bedrooms to comfortably sleep 4 people, a sofa bed can accomodate another guest and we have a travel cot available for infants.

About the location

The Valle D`Itria is a beautiful area full of many picturesque hilltop towns. Cisternino is particularly lively in the summer with many activities for tourists - religious festivals, music festivals, food festivals, street markets, fireworks and lots of sunshine. There are important archaeological areas nearby and of course miles of sandy beaches to enjoy a short (about 15km) drive away.

There is always something new to explore - and recently cycling routes have become well established around the area.

Our home is a short 10 minute walk from the hilltop town and so is quiet and private.

If you are driving it is an excellent base to explore the entire area of Puglia, with many tourist attractions within easy reach, it is ideal for children with Egnazia Acquapark nearby, Castellana Caves, ZooSafari and a Go-Karting track in Fasano - not to mention lots and lots of gelato everywhere you go!

The two nearest airports, Brindisi and Bari, are well served and both are easy to obtain rental cars, although we prefer the smaller Brindisi airport and find Sicily by Car to be good for rentals.

It is also possible (a bit trickier) to use public transport from both airports (that would be more suited to the backpacker generation), although we can arrange a mini cab as well.
