Cornish Coast Cottage

The house is modern, and really lovely! Our visitors always love it too, and many say how much they would like to come back. It is well equipped, and has central heating. In Summer you don`t usually need heating as the house catches lots of sunshine and is well insulated.

There is a balcony leading from the kitchen area, where we often have breakfast in the Summer, and there is a short bridge to our garden, which is elevated, and is simple - we call it our Zen garden. It has decking, pebbles and plants and a top level where there is an area with chairs, table and a sun umbrella. We have our lunch here on Summer days. Downstairs, outside the front door, there is a paved courtyard, with benches to sit on plus two swings - we may be grandparents but we usually both enjoy using the swings!

The kitchen area has a fridge freezer, a microwave, a hob and oven, sink, and dishwasher, plus a good work surface on a kitchen `island`. Downstairs there is a washer/dryer.

The bedrooms are downstairs, and upstairs is open plan, with a spacious feel to it with views to the sea and a distant headland.

There is parking for two cars. We have WI-FI and a television.

We love our Cornish cottage and are aware that your house is equally precious to you - we will treat your home with all the care and respect we give to our own.

About the location

Our cottage is a very short walk from the South West Coastal Path, along the magnificent cliffs of North Cornwall, and in easy reach of one of the best surfing and bathing beaches in the area - Trebarwith Strand. We are not far from Port Isaac, where the BBC series Doc Martin is filmed - if you`ve seen that, you have a good idea of the beautiful local coast line. Poldark was filmed further down the coast, and also gives a good idea of this wonderful area, with magnificent cliffs and beaches. There are numerous world class coastal walks a short drive away, or you can just walk from the door to, for instance, King Arthur`s Castle at Tintagel - this is a magnificent headland with archeological remains and wonderful views. We have many favourite walks, but especially love going to Boscastle along the coast path - you can walk from the house, or choose where to park your car and start nearer to Boscastle. You can get a bus back from fascinating Boscastle to your car. Inland you can walk up wooded valleys, visit a church where Thomas Hardy met his first wife , and go to the extraordinary waterfall at St Nectans Glen. You can walk on Bodmin Moor, and could have a day out to Dartmoor. The Eden Project is another possible day out. There are excellent places to eat in the area, to suit many tastes.
