Cosy country Cottage, Uckfield. Close to Brighton, Lewes and Ashdown Forest

Our cosy three bedroom home is located on the edge of Uckfield, ideally positioned for brilliant countryside walks and trips to the seaside and towns and cities of the south east, as well as London. Brighton and Eastbourne are both 35 minutes drive.

At the front of the house is parking for 2 cars in the driveway (we will probably take one car so there will be space for one), and a pretty front garden area. Through the porch you will find hooks for coats. Our living room is full of character, and has a lovely wood burner, two sofas (one of which is a double sofa bed) and a large TV with Netflix and the iPlayer. We also have a few board games which you are welcome to use. We have a one and a three year old so also have lots of toys for this age range which you are welcome to use.

The kitchen/diner is well equipped with pots, pans plates and glasses etc, and a dining table which seats 4, or can be extended to seat 6. Beyond this is the utility room, where you will find the dishwasher and washing machine.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and the bathroom. On the first floor one bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom is our boys room, so has a cot bed with rail set up in it, and a single bed pushed up right next to it. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and toilet, and the water pressure is good. On the second floor you will find our guestroom/office, which has a small double sofabed and lovely views over the garden and beyond. It could do with a redecorate! We have stairgates at the bottom and top of the stairs between the ground and first floor, and at the bottom of the first floor. There is not a stairgate at the top of the very top stairs as our children do not sleep up there.

Outside, our well-established garden is a lovely space to enjoy the sun throughout the day. It`s a good size and enclosed on all sides with a wonderful array of flowers and trees. We have a small fish pond and have lots of birds visit throughout the day. We also have a lot of garden toys for small children and a couple of deckchairs in the shed, and a small climbing frame with slide. We have a garden table that sits 8 people.

About the location

Our cottage is located in Ringles Cross, on the outskirts of Uckfield. We have a lovely pub just a few doors down with great local ales and serves food Wednesday to Sunday. The town of Uckfield is a 15 minute walk away, and has a picturehouse, a few pubs and restaurants and an array of shops. It also has a train station with links to London. Lewes is 20 minutes drive, Brighton and Eastbourne are both 35 minutes drive, and Tonbridge Wells is 30 minutes away.

We love having great walks and brilliant country pubs on our doorstep, our favourite area being the Ashdown Forest, which is just 15 minutes drive away. Lake Wood is also a brilliant place to visit, just 20 mins walk away.
