Peaceful home close to the Norfolk Broads and the coast - Norwich

We take great pride in our home and have tried to be thoughtful in making it soothing and creative. It is cosy and nurturing with a wood burner, calming colours and nods to nature throughout. We have lots of artwork on the wall; some by local artists and some prints of our travels and past house swaps. We have tried to create a sense of flow throughout the house and a mix of old and new. It may not be the biggest house, and yes it is on an estate, but it is quiet, peaceful and there is a lot of warmth from the local community.

We have a large garden with a vegetable patch, herb garden, a chicken, wildlife ponds and lots of pollinator-friendly plants. There is also a wood store, patio with table and chairs, BBQ and green house.

About the location

We are conveniently located on the north east part of Norwich which is on a bus route directly to Norwich train station (about 10 mins journey). You can cycle into Norwich town centre in 10 minutes and walk in about 30 minutes. Nearby there are tennis facilities and a local shop for all your essentials.

We are near Mousehold Heath which is a huge area of heathland full of wildlife, woodland, gorse and heather plants. Norwich cathedral is nearby along with the castle, city walls and a wealth of history. The river Wensum for kayaking, the `pub and paddle`. Quirky shops, art galleries and an array of eateries await in Norwich. The market won the best British market award in 2019 and is a foodie haven.

We have several National Trust properties nearby including Blickling and Felbrigg Halls. A 40 minute drive through gorgeous countryside takes you to some beautiful beaches such as Winterton-on-Sea with it`s inquisitive seals and a little further on is Holkham where numerous films have been filmed.

If it rains, there is the arthouse cinema, Cinema City, various theatres and leisure centres for swimming, trampolining and yoga.

You can travel to London by a direct train in 1.5 hours.
