Rock Cottage

A lovely attached cottage in the countryside in the village of Broadhempston, between Dartmoor and the coast. Three/four bedrooms, good sized kitchen diner and large lounge. Upstairs family bathroom and downstairs shower and toilet. There is an integrated annexe downstairs which can be private from the rest of the cottage. We are equidistant from Plymouth and Exeter. The nearest town is Totnes, about 10 minutes by car. Dartington Hall and gardens is also easily accessed.
There are private gardens back and front and various patio areas for sitting out or having bbqs).

There is free WiFi, tv, music centre and an eclectic music collection, and a good range of fiction and nonfiction books.

About the location

We are on the very edge of the South Hams. Dartmoor is about 20 minutes away and there are beautiful beaches and wonderful coastline about 45 minutes away. Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge and the beautiful coastal villages of Slapton, Hope Cove, Ringmore, Kingston, Thurlestone to name but a few(!) are all easily accessed for a wonderful day out.

We live in a farming area with a landscape of rolling hills but the cultural benefits of town and city are all available e.g. theatre at Plymouth and Exeter, cinemas at Dartington Hall and Totnes as well as the cities offerings.

We have two great pubs/restaurants in our village of Broadhempston and there are other excellent pubs and restaurants in Dartington, Totnes, Rattery, Landscove. The excellent and renowned Riverford Field Kitchen is but 10 minutes away. Ben’s Organic farm shop is also close and our Community Shop opens six days a week. The village hall offers a range of classes.

There are a fantastic range of activities available from walking, rock climbing, surf and windsurfing at Bantham and Bigbury, sea kayaking at Dartmouth, river kayaking on the Dart from Totnes to Dittisham, sailing at Salcombe, all at a range of levels from beginners to advanced. Juliet and I have recently taken up paddle boarding and sea kayaking!
