In Ancient Greek, Bodrum was Halicarnassus, the home of the Tomb of Mausolus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It is surrounded by many Greco-Roman sites including Ephesus which is about 2.5 hours by car.

Water sport lovers will find every kind of activity available from sailing to kite and wind surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving at a range of diving sites along the coast.
