Tregarow
Tregarow, "place of the deer" in Cornish, is a beautiful timber cabin hidden away on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Down a grassy track at the end of a quiet lane outside the small village of Tremar, Tregarow is surrounded by a wild garden... trees and our field. The beautiful coastline, secret beaches, historic sites and moorland and coast path walks are all within 30 mins drive. Its 5 mins walk to the Farm shop, 2 miles to the picturesque Crows Nest Inn and 4 miles to the quiet town of Liskeard.
Tregarow his a large cabin- one dbedroom with double bed, a bathroom with shower, and a large L shaped open kitchen / living room / workspace area. Kitchen has fridge, small freezer and electric cooker. microwave, kettle, toaster etc. The living room has a double sofa bed plus another sofa which could be used for a small person to sleep on (bedding avaiable for all 3). You re welcome to bring well behaved dogs - its a safe place for them. We own an adjoining field so its a good place for them to run around!
Tregarow is our well-loved family place: there is a TV and video player (not a smart TV) and lots of interesting books and some good dvds.
There is a parking place by our neighbours house. (Please keep the turning area free) Then its 50 metres walk on a grassy track so bring suitable footwear! There are occiasional buses to Liskeard, and many walks from Tregarow, but having a car is a great advantage here.
About the location
Bodmin Moor has a fascinating history: There are ancient monuments within 10 minutes’ drive (The Hurlers Stone Circle, King Donierts stone, Trethevy Quoit, St Cleer Holy Well) Natural landscape features abound (The Cheesewring, Golitha Falls, Siblyback Lake, and many moorland walks) and fascinating post industrial sites (Phoenix Mine, Gonamena) are on the doorstep. The famous moorland pub of Jamaica Inn and the picturesque fishing villages of Looe and Polperro are less than 10 miles away, and the stunningly beautiful south coast is ideal for swimming and snorkelling, with hidden beaches, spectacular coastal walks and typical Cornish villages with beautiful old churches. The north coast is perfect for surfing, and Tintagel Castle, the legendary seat of King Arthur, is not to be missed. Visit pretty Padstow and eat at Rick Stein`s resturaunt, or walk the spectacular coast path there.
There are so many places to explore within an hour`s drive it would be impossible to list them all here.
