Oast House near Tenterden
I live in a pretty Oast House situated 3 miles from the beautiful market town of Tenterden, Kent. An oast used to be used in beer making, it was used to dry the hops from the fields. The house is in a rural area surrounded by fields. The house is on a very quiet lane but set back from this down a long private drive. I have a large private garden with a large sun terrace. It great to sit on a summers night and watch the swallows swooping overhead. I have two large double bedrooms and one small single. The lounge and one of the bedrooms are in the roundell so are round rooms. The kitchen is brand new light and sunny. I have a covered barn for parking and another barn for storage.
About the location
I live between High Halden and Biddenden. 3 miles from Tenterden. This is the weald of Kent known as the garden of England. In the past hops and fruit were main crop but in recent years grapes are popular with many vineyards like Chapeldown flourishing. The channel tunnel is only 30 minutes distance and the beaches of around Rye only 20 minutes down the road. Headcorn station is 15 minutes away, from here you can get a train to London which takes just over an hour and takes you to London Bridge or Charring Cross.
