Lovely little cosy cottage suitable for 2 people, generously equipped, farmhouse kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine (and pull down drying rack), full gas central heating, separate sitting room with one additional single Sofabed. Modern bathroom with shower, loo and basin. Fully carpeted. Parking available with permits supplied. Fantastic spot to explore Bakewell with its array of shops, restaurants, tea rooms etc. Frequent buses to Sheffield, Castleton and environs. Exciting walks all in and around The Peak District. Monsall Trail only a short drive away. Buses across the street to Buxton, a Historic Spa Town where there are natural spring and where Mary Queen of Scots once stayed. Trains to Chesterfield only 2 hours to London. A wonderful spot for a weekend retreat.

About the location

Bakewell is a beautiful town in the heart of The Peak District, indeed the only town once known as the 'centre of England'. So many interesting places to visit. There's a regular market every Monday, Bakewell Old Museum at the top of Bagshaw Hill, Chatsworth House is only a few minutes drive away, next to to idyllic village of Ednesor where the Kennedy's are buried. Buses leave regularly to Chatsworth House where there are famous exhibitions, fairs and grounds in which to stroll. There are some lovely restaurants in Bakewell, Loveage , a Michelin Star restaurant where Tom Cruz was last scene dining after his famous filming at Stoney Middleton, The Rutland Arms, just 5 mins away serving delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinner as a reasonable price.
