Coastal Family Home
We have a spacious four bedroom home which is located within walking distance to several swimming beaches, parks and cafes.
Our home is in a quiet neighbourhood in a cul-de-sac. It is all one level and has a fenced in backyard which is perfect for children. We have a swing and sandpit for little people, a surfboard and stand up paddle board for your use and bikes to borrow.
There is new air-conditioning in all three bedrooms and the main living area. We have a main bedroom with a queen bed, spare bedroom with a queen bed and a third bedroom with a cot, which we can also put a single bed in there for you on request. There is a TV room to relax in, a family dining area, sitting room and central kitchen. Our house is clean, tidy and has a lot of natural light. There is a nice outdoor area and a BBQ to enjoy those beautiful summer evenings.
About the location
Bargara beach is a lovely coastal holiday town. It is well known for the Mon Repos Turtle Rookery which you can book turtle encounters to see turtle hatchlings or turtle laying. The turtle season runs from late November to early March.
It is 4.5 hours from Brisbane by car or 45 mins by plane. You can also fly direct from Melbourne to Bundaberg.
Bargara has many coffee shops, cafes, parks and playgrounds. The beaches are beautiful and several of them are patrolled by life savers. The beaches are all quite sheltered and you get small waves which is ideal for surfing with a long board or you can use our stand up paddle board. Kelly's beach and Elliot Heads beach would be our favourites. There are some amazing rock pools with coral that you can swim in which are close by. There are bike paths connecting the whole of the coastal region. We often see kangaroos, king fishers, rainbow lorikeets, kookaburras and lots of other wildlife at our local park.
Fraser Island or K'gari (local indigenous name) is a 1.5 hour drive from our house. This is the world's largest sand island and is world heritage listed. There are beautiful fresh water lakes to swim in, rainforests, hiking, fishing and camping to experience.
We are at the southern end of the great barrier reef and you can book a Lady Musgrave Island tour to depart from the Bundaberg Port. Bundaberg is a 15 minute drive from Bargara and is our main town. Otherwise the town of 1770 is a 1.5 hour drive and you can also book a Lady Musgrave tour from there. The coral is stunning and the snorkelling is very sheltered as it is in a coral atoll. There are whale watching tours at the end of November.
Bargara has several groceries stores and shops for all your needs. There is a gym, several golf courses and tennis courts. The town of Bundaberg has further restaurants, shops, an art gallery and a cinema.
We love where we live and we hope that we can share it with you.
