Comfy one bedroom flat in the heart of Wapping, E1W

My one bedroom flat is compact, yet surprisingly spacious. It is on the first floor up two small flights of stairs, in a friendly and quiet building (only 6 flats total).

It has a double bedroom, combined bath/shower and an open plan living/kitchen area with a well equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and washing machine. It's recently been refurbished so is modern and light filled (though with black out blinds for those long summer days). There isn't a balcony, but there is a fire escape that leads to the street and park at the back of the property.

The flat isn't really equipped for children, but if you did have a little person or just an occasional guest, there is a single fold out lounge in the living room that can be used.

Note: I also rent an art studio nearby, that I'd be happy to include in a swap (for longer term ones). It's equipped with an easel, desk chair and small desk. If interested in that please let me know so I can organise well in advance as there would just be a few hoops to jump through. The organisation I rent through would require the person be a practising artist and that they are signed up to their mailing list.

About the location

Wapping is such an interesting area. While it has a dark history (press gangs and pirates oh my!), today it has a community/village feel despite how close it is to the centre of London.

It has multiple parks and gardens, is a short walk to the river Thames and an easy amble along the canal (check out the local swan family on the way) to the bars and eateries at St Katherine docks. While not on the underground it has excellent transport options - the flat is a 3 min walk to Wapping overground, and buses just across the road that can take you to Canary Wharf, Tower Hill or thriving Shoreditch (alternatively the latter two can be walked to in about 30 mins).

There are a number local delicious cafes in the immediate area of the flat as well as traditional English pubs - particularly recommend the Prospect of Whitby or the Captain Kidd. Both are on the river and 5-10 mins walk from the flat. Groceries, pharmacy and Doctors office are also in the immediate area of the flat and there is a larger Waitrose about 10 mins walk away.
