Rowden Mill Station building
Rowden Mill Station is a restored railway station complete with a host of original GWR railway features, authentically restored and now operating as a self-catering holiday let.
The Station building sleeps 4 in two bedrooms and has been restored to its Victorian splendor while also allowing for modern living. SO a really nice wood burning stove but also with central heating and fast internet.
Outside the whole station is preserved along with platforms, tracks, signalling and all the other railway paraphernalia that you may expect to find at a late Victorian railway station.
About the location
Rowden Mill Station is within the parish of Bredenbury a couple of miles from Bromyard where all the usual facilities can be found. Bromyard is a small town in North Herefordshire known for it's independent shops, local festivals and extensive Christmas lights.
Herefordshire has rolling hills and many hidden away ancient villages. There are several National Trust properties near by and all of Herefordshire is cider country with many fine local cider producers little known outside of the county.
There are several fine market towns in Herefordshire including Hay-on-Wye just on the Welsh border, Ross on Wye, Ledbury and our market town of Bromyard.
The county town of Hereford retains areas of the late middle ages street plan and Hereford Cathedral has the Mapa Mundi on show.
Just out of Herefordshire to the North is Ludlow famous for it's middle ages street plan and still active market square just next to Ludlow castle, while to the East is Malvern with its hills and theaters.
