Beautiful home located in Coal Point on a rise overlooking Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia
Comfortable home with a fantastic view to the lake.
Over the past 5 years we have added a new kitchen, new main bathroom, new laundry and replaced flooring in living areas and corridors. We have a 80 square metre back deck, which overlooks Lake Macquarie - perfect for outdoor dining, watching sunrises and sunsets and yacht races.
We have an open living area with a small sitting area off the kitchen, then through a doorway into a dining area and lounge. This whole area has floor to ceiling glass windows to take in the lake views. The lounge has reverse cycle air-conditioning.
Our main bedroom with reverse cycle airconditioner, ceiling fan, ensuite and walk in robe would be your bedroom.
We have several studies and a small guest bedroom.
On both sides of our home are vacant bush blocks with gum trees abundant with bird life - kookaburras, whip birds, magpies, butcher birds, eastern rosellas, rainbow lorikeets. It is a very safe and friendly neighbourhood with a regular bus service.
We live just a 5 minute drive (or bus trip) to Toronto - the local suburb with 3 major food stores, butchers, pharmacy, doctors, newsagents, the iconic Toronto Pub, cafes, restaurants, yacht club, post office, churches etc.
It is a 10 minute drive to Fassifern Train station with regular trains to Sydney central train station - trip duration approx 2 hours.
About the location
Lake Macquarie is the largest coastal salt water lake in Australia and is twice the size of Sydney Harbour.
Sydney is a 2 hour train ride from Fassifern Stations or 1.5hour drive from Coal Point by road.
The Hunter Valley, renowned for its vineyards, is less than an hours drive away.
Although we are close to Sydney for theatre, concerts etc it is only a 40 minute drive north into Newcastle to the heritage listed Civic Theatre, Newcastle Town Hall, restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, harbour parks and walks and Nobby`s Head - a headland that sits at the entrance of Newcastle Harbour.
The Watagan National Park is a short drive from our home and filled with walking trails and beautiful drives.
On the Eastern side of Lake Macquarie are residential suburbs that are bounded by the coastal beaches on the east coast..... beautiful walks, swimming, cafes, surf clubs.
